Gianfranco - "Last Dreamer" se realizó en diferentes pasos a lo largo del tiempo. Después de nuestra última actuación en el Festival All Tomorrow's Parties 2012 en Inglaterra, Pippo se mudó a Londres y Andrea a Sicilia. Solíamos ser una "banda en vivo" y ya no vivíamos en la misma ciudad (ed. Bologna) lo que hacía imposible continuar, por lo que la banda hizo una pausa. Un día, Alice encontró algunas grabaciones antiguas hechas en nuestro estudio de ensayo y extrapoló algunas tomas descartadas de ellas, como riffs toscos y toques de melodías. Así que tuvimos la idea de finalizarlos, trabajando a distancia, incluso con Pippo y Andrea para refinar esos borradores y completar los arreglos. Solo las pistas "Crash" y "Last Dreamer" ya se habían escrito y tocado en el escenario en ese momento, pero aún no se habían lanzado. Luego finalmente nos encontramos de nuevo en Bolonia dos veces y ¡fue pura magia! Las canciones cobraron vida y sonaron increíbles. La pandemia retrasó las sesiones de grabación, pero nació el disco. "Last Dreamer" fue grabado por Luca Tacconi, en Sotto Il Mare Recording Studios, en febrero de 2021. Alice aún no estaba lista con las voces, y como teníamos poco tiempo, preferimos hacer una buena mezcla básica, aprovechando al máximo del sonido de estudio y la gran maestría de Luca Tacconi. De vuelta a casa, Alice grabó las voces, los coros y se encargó de los arreglos finales, agregando más partes instrumentales, incluidas algunas de mi guitarra slide y ebow. Ella hizo la mezcla final, compartiendo los últimos ajustes con la banda.

 

 

Alice - Al principio tomé clases particulares con un profesor muy bueno, que me ayudó a "domesticar" mi energía. Luego seguí por mi cuenta, experimentando el canto como un puente hacia el universo, una forma de escucharme y expresar mis sentimientos.

 

 

Gianfranco - ¡Sí, así es! Escuchaste bien, hay una diapositiva, particularmente es un dobro que también toqué en álbumes anteriores. Soy un bajista, pero también un músico de slide. Es una verdadera pasión que siempre he tenido, el blues para mí significa mucho, pero diría música negra en general. Dentro de la banda ALiX tenemos gustos musicales muy diferentes, pero compartimos este amor por la música negra. Durante nuestros conciertos hay un momento en que dejo el bajo y cojo el dobro, siempre es una experiencia muy divertida y liberadora.

 

 

Alice - “Crash” la compusimos hace años y ya la hemos tocado en directo. Permaneció en el cajón hasta que decidimos reencontrarnos. Es una canción de ruptura, un grito desesperado y una denuncia contra la superficialidad y la indiferencia política ante los problemas climáticos.

 

 

Alice - Los coros que escuchas son todos cantados por mí. En este álbum en particular me acerqué a ellos como si fueran los pensamientos del personaje principal de la historia. Son la otra cara de la luna, la conciencia del alma, el reflejo de las acciones.

 

 

 

Gianfranco - Estamos programando una gira por Italia en abril de 2023, y luego la intención es continuar fuera del país.

 

 

Alice - “Last Dreamer” es un disco “libre”, nacido del amor. Mantiene la actitud “en vivo” de la banda, que es su verdadera esencia. Cuando lo escuches, déjate llevar y sigue al Soñador, que te llevará. lejos.

Gianfranco - “Last Dreamer” was realized in different steps over time. After our last performance at the 2012 All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in England, Pippo moved to London and Andrea to Sicily. We used to be a “live band” and no longer living in the same city (ed. Bologna) made it impossible to go on, so the band went on hiatus. One day Alice happened to find some old recordings made in our rehearsal studio and extrapolated some outtakes from them, such as rough riffs and hints of melodies. So we got the idea to finalize them, working from a distance even with Pippo and Andrea to refine those drafts and complete the arrangements. Only the tracks "Crash" and "Last Dreamer" had already been written and played on stage at the time, but still unreleased. Then we finally met again in Bologna twice and it was pure magic! The songs came to life and sounded amazing. The pandemic delayed the recording sessions, but the album was born. "Last Dreamer" was recorded by Luca Tacconi, at Sotto Il Mare Recording Studios, in February 2021. Alice was not yet ready with the vocals, and since we had a short time, we preferred to make a good basic mix, taking full advantage of the studio sound and Luca Tacconi's great mastery. Back home, Alice recorded the vocals, backing vocals and took care of the final arrangements, adding more instrumental parts, including some of my slide and ebow guitar. She did the final mixing, sharing the last adjustments with the band.

 

 

Alice - At the beginning I took private lessons from a very good teacher, who helped me "tame" my energy. Then I continued on my own, experiencing singing as a bridge to the universe, a way to listen to myself and express my feelings.

 

 

 

Gianfranco - Yeah, that's right! You heard well, there is a slide, particularly it is a Dobro that I also played on previous albums. I am a bass player but also a slide player. It's a real passion I've always had, blues for me means so much, but I would say black music in general. Inside the band ALiX we have very different musical tastes, but we share this love for black music. During our concerts there is a moment when I quit the bass and pick up the dobro, it is always a very fun and liberating experience.

 

 

Alice - “Crash" was composed years ago and we have already played it live. It remained in the drawer until we decided to reunite. It is a break-up song, a desperate cry, and a denunciation against superficiality and political indifference to climate problems.

 

 

Alice - The choirs you hear are all sung by me. In this particular album, I approached them as if they were the thoughts of the main character of the story. They are the other side of the moon, the consciousness of the soul, the reflection of actions.

 

 

 

Gianfranco - We are scheduling an Italian tour in April 2023, and then the intention is to continue outside the country.

 

 

Alice - “Last Dreamer" is a "free" record, born in love. It keeps the band's "live" attitude, which is its true essence. When you listen to it, please let go and follow the Dreamer, who will take you far.
