ENGLISH VERSION BELOW
DJ: Gracias.
DJ: Bueno, yo solía tener Animal Drive.

Dino Jelusick, one of the most loved and respected singers in the world of Rock, will be releasing his album "Follow The Blind Man" on September 29 through Escape Music, it will be available on CD, Vinyl and digital platforms. Excellent opportunity for Made in Metal to talk with him to find out everything about this long-awaited release.
MiM: “Follow The Blind Man” (Escape Music, 2023) is an album with a heavy sound, strong and catchy guitar riffs. What can you tell me about this album?
DJ: Thank you. We actually recorded guitars at my beach house back in early March, I was an engineer for that, we did Marshall + Blackstar Amps for this album. Took us a week for the whole album. Rest was done at my home and the drums were done in Mario's house. Mixed in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
MiM: Dino, you are a singer with an impressive vocal range; You have collaborated with dozens of musicians such as Transsiberian Orchestra, Michael Romeo, you have been part of Whitesnake, but I always believed that you were ready to go out alone, have your band and succeed. How did the idea to create Jelusick come about?
DJ: Well, I used to have Animal Drive. Then that fell off because of the court case with previous label. It was no brainer to have my own band again, I just couldn't do it at that time. Now is absolutely the time and it's my priority.
MiM: Regarding collaborations, what do you have planned for the immediate future?
DJ: I don't wanna reveal that, a lot of surprises will happen within next six months. I will also announce my second band that I formed.
MiM: How was the signing process with Escape Music? Tell me about it?
DJ: Very easy. Did a song for Khalil and Turkish Delight and he wanted to work with me. We agreed that he will release our next album and here we are!
MiM: Dino, we were all paying attention to your excellent work on Whitesnake. Was your inclusion in the band temporary or are you currently part of the official lineup permanently?
DJ: I'm still officially a part of Whitesnake even though there won't be any touring in the future.
MiM: A few days ago I interviewed singing teacher Ken Tamplin and asked him what his opinion was about Dino Jelusick. Literally these were his words: “I have had many conversations with Dino and I literally believe that he is one of the best rock voices in the world and perhaps in the entire history of rock. It is a shame that he is not being given the same opportunities than a lot of talents similar to his in the '70s, '80s and early '90s. But he's paving the way and he's doing a great job at it and he's not only a great singer but a phenomenal musician". What could you tell me about Ken's words about you?
DJ: Super humbled to here this from Ken!!! He is the best vocal coach rock world has ever had and to be recognized by him is an honor. Such a sweet soul that produced so many great singer and one of the best (if not the best) female rock singers, Gabriela Guncikova.
MiM: Dino, I would like to know why you didn't accept the offer to join Lords of Black, Tony Hernando's Spanish band?
SJ: Well, at that time I wanted Animal Drive to grow and thought it wouldn't be possible to have two full time bands on the same label. Plus I really don't think I'm a good fit for power metal, at least I don't see myself in that genre. But I love LOB and love Tony.
MiM: I will mention two singers and you will tell me your opinion about them: Ronnie Romero and Johnny Gioeli.
DJ: When I first heard Romero live in Italy with CoreLeoni I was blown away. Effortless and strong, which is funny cause is not loud at all, which means he knows how to save his voice and sound big. Gioelli was one of my favorite back when I discovered "Double Eclipse" in high school, love him!
MiM: Dino, you have an impressive career with several years of tours, concerts, albums and collaborations with the best artists on the international scene. Looking back, how would you rate your work in all these years?
DJ: Well, I think all of those years led to being what I am today. I did my best in that time but I think my prime is actually now, not when I was 22 or 25. My voice and ideas are at its peak probably now or will be in 2-3 years.
MiM: Now the album is available to all fans of the band, what plans do you have to promote it?
DJ: We have done some gigs this year, sold out concert in our hometown, still have a gig as support to The Dead Daisies, a December tour in Switzerland but the rest of the touring will happen in 2024, (Zamora in Spain so far). Follow our website and social media for dates!
MiM: Finally, I wanted you to feel free to share a few words with your fans and our readers?
DJ: I hope I see y'all at our concerts soon!
